so upon installing the stator in the blaster, i noticed something weird. when i seat the stator the ohms drop. it tests 256 and 24 and when i try to put in place, it stays at 256 but drops to 4. when i take it out it goes back up to 24 wtf is going on. i have check all the connections on the stator and the bike and have found no bad grounds of hot wire touching anywhere. this is the 3rd blaster that i have had similar problems with and have never solved them . someone please shoot me a suggestion i have no more hair left i have pulled it all out. thanx

i dont know the problem either, this bike has been really pissin me off. as soon as i touch the stator the motor, it loses ohms. it should be at around 24 and 256. when i touch the stator to the motor it drops to 4ohms. this bike ran fine when i test drove it and bought it and as soon as i took it off the trailer it wouldnt start no spart. coils tested good. the stator tested bad so im trying to replace it.

well i done with yamaha's, no offense to anyone but im going back to honda. they have never failed me. i have had a total of 6 yamaha 4 blasters and they always go to sh*t. i still have a 82' piece of sh*t honda 200s and its still running strong. to hell with yamaha's. nothing but bad experiences. thanx for the help to all who took time to try and help i do appreciate it.

my yamaha has never failed me once if you maintain it right it will last forever. i think your giving up to fast electrical problems can be a b**** u never know just eplace the stator itl be cheaper than buying another quad.

I'm asssuming the 24 you are talking about is the pulse coil resistance. The only reason it should do what you are describing is an internal short to the stator plate. Check it with it off the engine. If the resistance from the red/white wire to the plate is different than the r/w to black wire, then replace the pulse (pickup) coil.

i take back what i said about yamaha's. didnt mean to affend anyone. I GOT IT GOING THOUGH!!! it was the crank seal, it was putting oil in the tube so it wasnt able to fire up. i cant explain the no spark.. but i kicked it about 50 times and got it to start and then rode it around for a bit and burned the oil out. with new crank seals it runs awesome. starts everytime. thanx for all the help you dudes are awesome!
