86 250r or 04 banshee!?

if you read the thread he tells how, titanium bolts, aluminum bolts, all bolts cut down to exact length, drilled frame and plastics, any unneeded mount cut off, chromoly subframe, theres all sorts of ways....that bike is sick as hell

eiher bike will be great... and eitehr one will work in trails ok.. the 250R handles like a slot car. i can give you an honest opinion.. i own an 86trx250R adn 86atc250R and multiple banshees.. from stock bore stock stroke unported with pipes all the way up to a 421 cub on alky (project i'm working on now..) and i've spent a good amount of time on a my buds esr310 honda as well.. in the real tight stuff the R will shine.. the banshee just doesn't like to turn in real tight spots.. if your trails don't have realy tight turns the shee wil be fine.. really it comes down to personal preference. like i said i own both and i love both.. the suspension geometery on the honda is much better than the shee.. but either one will need updated suspension.. you also have to remember that the 250R is 20+ years old.. there are things you'll find that need replaced that aren't planned.. i say pick one and stick with it.. either way is a win..

the chomoly drag frame helps too.... i've seen this quad in person while it was under construction. if i remember correctly thats charlie ohtons old trx500R drag frame.. in fact i have the old frame from that bike hanging in the shed

and to the guy that said the blaster is a better bike than a 250R??? COME ON!!!!! i like blasters.. in fact i like all 2 stroke quads.. even those damn suzukis.. but a blaster doesn't hold a candle to a 250R honda in any type of riding or racing.

never thought this was gonna be such a viscious thread. thanks for all the input guys. im just really feelin the 250r. idk why. maybe its the nostalgia/retro-ness of it all. i was born in 86, bikes an 86...i mean cmon. the zebra ceet cover is f*ckin crrraazzzyyy.

eventually i wanna get another zebra cover for it. ceet doesnt; make them anymore but i know who does!! haha i also have a blue/white zebra cover for my tecate 4... rockstar says he's gonna do the zebra on his lt250R so eventually we'l have all 3 250 class quads with the zebra print!! haha

Well, I have a Banshee that I have my oldest boy riding. And I ride a TRX450R. I have to say the Banshee sounds cool and goes great, but it shifts like cr@p. And I did the modded shift star AND the lighter tension spring. The Honda bikes just seem more comfortable and user friendly. I don't have a TRX250r, but if it shifts ANYTHING like my 450, it is worlds ahead. And I know the suspension and handling of a TRX is much nicer.
Ride Red!
:D
