6th Gear?!

Well since I have had my blaster I've been happy with just about everything but I thought it could be a little better on top speed. A couple days ago I looked at the stator cover and saw the shift pattern. I was amazed when it went to 6. When I ride the quad only allows me to shift to 5th but seems like it wants to pull more. I also read many places that said mine should have 6 gears. So what could be the problem with it not letting me get to 6th? I would love to have that extra top speed.

Yes I know. It only lets me get to 5th which is 4 up.

Are you making sure when you shift into 5th that the shifter goes all the way back into rest? Or when your shift into 6th, that you go all the way up?

This is a regular thing for me to top it out. I ride fields alot and I can put it up into fifth and when it hits the top of the gear it will just pull like it wants to go farther but it just cant get the gearing. And yes I have just about mastered gearing lol. It kicks all the way to 5th easily but then it just wont go to 6th.

what about with it off try rocking it back and forth and go throught the gears and see if it goes to 6th

drain your tranny fluid and see what it looks like.
hopefully it is just brown and not brown with flakes.

make sure your shifter is no bent or hits anything also

Alright guys. And sheeblast I change my oil every 10 hours at least and its done this since I owned it and no chips. The oil was greyish one time but only once. And lasx, as far as I can see the shifter is straight and clear. Someone said something about a shifter star earlier? Could an aftermarket one help me?

Yeah I saw that. Looks like it just has pointier teeth. Would that possibly solve the problem though?

Thanks I think I might just order a modified one. I'm really good at working with my hands but grinding things in the tranny, just the idea makes me nervous lol.

im not sure you can just order one. you can take yours off and send it to a builder i think they are like 15 bucks to get modded

Yeah someone said something earlier about it. And I like the gas comment in your sig lol. My brothers have been taking gas from my moms cans and they tried to blame it on me but I just point out that I mix mine. Lol

That link was for the banshee shifter. And it wasn't the star but would the banshee parts work?
