I am sure this has been done before... but I wanted to give people my review.

First off I installed it by making the needle bearing inside the shock longer to fill the gap and then made spacers and packed everything very well with grease. The inside needle bearing tube is now thinner but we made it from hard steel and it allowed us to use the stock mounting bolt.

For the bottom mount I drilled it out and then machined a spacer to put in between the mount "ears" just for peace of mind.

Now for the ride review...

This shock is worlds better. I am about 190lbs and it rides very well across the whoops... no more bucking and hanging on for my life. I adjusted the rebound and compression all the way soft and then went approx. 1 turn back in. The spring is compressed a little less than half of the adj. ( I will probably soften this up a little more) for the stock swingarm... adjustments will have to be made once I get my 4" extended swing arm.

This shock makes the blaster much more rideable. The best way I can compare it is it is like a works shock compared to a stock shock better.

And I LOVE the works shock on the rear of my 250r. :D

thanks for the review man, i like my 250R shock on the back of mine. been thinking that i might try a 400ex shock if/when i swap it out or build another bike

yea the 400ex is a great upgrade....i just bought another one for the ride, and yes ken oconners bushings make a 4 beer PITA job, into a 1 beer simple mod.....cant beat it for the price

Yes he makes a bushing kit for the top of the 400ex shock to make it fit. You still have to drill out the bottom some. Cannot wait to put on the longer swing arm and try it :)
