I have blaster and it bored .80 over has a 14/40 gear ratio and has a 310 main and 35 pilot, i was riding with my friend the other day I was on my blaster he was on a crf250, if I were to out a 240 kit on my motor would it make much of a difference and would it give my blaster enough power to pull up in like 4th gear, if not what's so special about a dirtbike motor that gives it so much power

dude. put a pipe on it and it will pull up in 4th gear easy. mine does it and all i got is an fmf pipe. but if you get a 240 kit get it ported. that will make the biggest difference. otherwise i heard most 240 kits arent that great. but the CT 240 kit is great and is already ported. lotta money tho
A CRF250, just like the YZ250 is a race motor from the beginning. The YFS200 Blaster motor is a choked down entry level motor. You can get the cc's up to 244 in a YFS200. I think you need to get as many cc's possible and get a professional port job. Then and only then will you run with a 250.
Dirtbikes are also geared different than quads. If you really want to beat him in a race just throw a stick in his spokes.
LMFAO^^^^ It doesn't hurt that a bike is lighter, either, but as said before, it is basic engine design that holds the Blaster back.
im pretty sure the crf250 is a four stroke trail bike and a yz 250 is a two stroke race bike. the crf250R is a race bike, but if the first guy ment cr250r then my fault:-[
I was comparing 2 strokes to 2 strokes. 4 strokes need much more cc's to make the same power as a 2 stroke but I could see a maxed out Blaster running with a 400 or 450 4 stroke.
if u want 4th gear power wheelies.... fmf pipe, reeds, air filter, mabes take the lid off, and if u still have the money get porting and it will lift in 6th probs.... mine can lift in 4th and its not even that worked.... theyre really good for power wheelies bec theyre light as hell
