2004 bogging down

My blaster has never gone down before, even if i let it sit for a while. After sitting for about 6 months i filled up the gas tank (took it off) and now hell broke loose. My brother tried cleaning the carb out and still nothing. I am taking it in today do get some "uv bath" this 4x4 shop does. I will probably also get a new float pin and seals as well.

- it sounds like it starts up good for a second then bogs down, and sounds like the piston is hitting pretty hard.

- when i hit the throttle it bogs down even more and smokes like hell and back (bluish white, my brother says its just white but i disagree)

- it will backfire and spit oil out of the header where it meets the muffler. (i use mixed gas 32:1

- Brand new spark-plug gaped at .03

- Tors kit is still on, seems to be working correctly as far as i can tell

- When it is about to run out of gas sounds like it is ok for a second again, then dies because it is out of gas

Now i know i am opening myself up to a slew of people telling me i am stupid, i just want to get my blaster running. I am not amazing with motors. I am open to any and all suggestions on what it could be. A few things i am having trouble looking up that may help (pictures please?) are:

- What does each adjustment screw on the carb to
- I noticed most people have multiple hoses on the carb. I got the fuel one. I have the oil blockoff i was told, so where does the tube from the crankcase go to...
- I do not have a parking brake, shouldn't the sensor to it be unplugged then?

Nothing stupid about any of this, at all.!
Lets see what the Carb cleaning does?
Have you tried a new plug?
the running better as it starves for fuel as it runs out, points towards a "rich " condition.
Was the tors wires reconnected after brother cleaned the carb.?
And yes, disconnect that parking brake switch, search for "parking brake/delete " and you'll find threads on how to do it
(On my phone right now, or I'd link you)

Might as well peek into that intake to see if all 4 reed petals are intact while you have the Carb off, a broken/ cracked/ chipped reedpetal will also give these symptoms

Lets wait for the Carb to come back clean and try/ check what's mentioned above and we'll go from there

Keep us posted.

Do an 03+ TORS delete search for the wireing. As to cleaning carb, you can't just give it a quick douche with carb spray. You have to take everything apart. The pilot jet has one tiny hole, there are four on the jet needle/emulsion tube, and several in the carb body.
I like to make sure I can blow compressed air both ways through any passage in the body.
Todays gas goes bad very quickly and will block any of these small holes. Myself I prefer to soak them in Berrymans Carb Dip. ENGINE DEGREASER : "BERRYMAN" CHEM DIP PARTS CLEANER

Confusing symptoms, a combination of lean and rich conditions.

Piston hitting hard, white smoke, bogging leads me to think that a tranny side oil seal is leaking, creating a lean mixture.

Has a leak test ever been done to the motor.

Running better when it leans out when all the gas is used from the carby, says to me that the carb has been flooding.

When a motor stands for a period of time, the needle and seat can be made dirty due to the evaporation of the old gas. This may cause the carby to flood creating a rich condition.

Cleaning and adjustment of the carb, and/or a new needle and seat should fix that problem.

The TORS, reeds and parking brake can also return the same symptoms, and others have covered the fix.

The tube from the crancase, which is actually the tranny case, goes up under the tank and finishes under the hood.

On right side of carb by air cleaner boot is a Brass nipple make sure it is capped or plugged, it was from the oil injection. If the "hose" goes to the right front of motor, it was from oil injection. If it is from under carb by cylinder, it is the trans breather.
