somebody please help me.....:( , theres a rod that holds the clutch, the one in the middle of the 5 springs, a rod with a nut on it that holds the cover. im trying to find out if the rod on mine broke? because it just slides out of the middle of that shaft that the clutch basket sits on. is that how it is? or is it supposed to be one piece with the shaft? My clutch slips when i ride , wondering if that could be the reason? thankz....

check to make sure you have free play in your clutch lever, many times the cable will be adjusted too tight. As far as the disengagement adjuster you were describing, it doesn't hold anything. It rides against a ball in the center of your transmission main shaft. Your clutch cable acctuates a cam and that presses against the rod and ball to dissengage your clutch. If any of it is adjusted too tight the clutch will slip. Your best bet is to purchase a clymbers manual and it will show you how to properly adjust the clutch.

ok, thanks i'll try get me a manual , probably will need it in the future any ways, thanks alot man for clearing up that rod part for me though, i thought i broke it or something, lol.
