Hey fellas! Brand new to the sight my name is Raleigh im 20 years young, and i have a 1990 blaster. It does run and drive i dont know hardly anything about this thig at all i got it in trade for an old ford fox body mustang i had. I was told it has the bore kit. .40 over and other then that im clueless on everything. Maintenance. How it opperates properly. Everything. I can get it to turn over but it dies instantly. Wont idle at all period. Can some one guide me on how to diagnose this awfully annoying problem. Cause with it not idling at all i gotta keep the rpms up hold the clutch and put it in first to get it rolling. So if someone could tell me as much as they could about this machine that i need to know and how to take care of it and all that stuff it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance! And please be nice im new to this kind of quads. LOL. Thanks Raleigh.

hmmm.. I can see why no one is answered...... Your question is so huge and vauge it will be really hard too give you any sort of answer. you sholuld really do some searching on the site and read some previous threads on the topics you are curious on. then start asking questions that are more specific

Idle adjusting.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs to allow the motor to respond.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

Free manual here.

Plug chop.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch of the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.

first things i do when i get a blasty: leak down test, compression test, check the piston and rings for wear, clean carb and airfilter, change all fluids, take out TORS, delete oil injection, put in new plug and then see where im at
