i found one for sale for 800 firm but the swing arm housing is cracked and the money to buy this quad will be taken out of the money to fix the blasty so wat should i do i always wanted a quadracer but i dont want a broken blasty for to much longer

they're good quads, but i'd hold out for a newer one, i think its 90-92, they have a better suspension setup. the cracked swinger is pretty common on them though

i'd hold out for an 87+ i don't know how the suspension is, but they have the powervalve where the 85-86 doesn't.

Unless it's in really good shape I wouldn't get it. The 85&86s don't have a power valve like 87+ and have way less front suspension travel. I would keep looking and try to get a 88+ and try to find one that's not beat to sh*t. Also try to stay away from 87 cause they're to hard to find engine parts for.

yeah i would just fix up the blaster i have a 1992 lt250r and i am having to go to the dealership for alot of parts...
BUT the 85-86 lt250r's seem to be the most common soo its a throw up

Like john said its a toss up.... If you could snatch it for 500 go for it, I would. But if you hold out I know that in the lower 48 87+ go for under 1000 all day that are in good shape.

The first gens may be 5speed, under powered, worser handling and have their problems but they are VERY light and nimble.
The 87+ are much faster and balls-ier and have 6speeds.. and handle better but the PV's are a joke and clog all the time, have a more complex engine and are heavier..

If you really want one the best years is 91-92.
