I really aint a speed demon and wondered how well a 3mm stroked port and polished motor would run with this combo 14/44, am i geared way to low,, just need some input?? THANX

most guys with modded motors run that combo, but i didnt like it on mine, sure i gained a ton of top speed, but found myself going down into 2nd and even 1st sometimes on the tight trails i ride, so i went back to a 13 front

if i'm right, a 12/40 would eb the exact same, ur gonne be goin thru the gears fast unless u are running hugge tires, 18's will be retarted with that i'd try 14/40

With a stock swing i am kind of worried that the 14/44 might be a hazard with the HP i will be puttin out. The only reason i planned on the 14/44 is because its a new set of sprockets i just purchased cheap and i have a 40 rear but would like to go with the brand new sprockets both front and back .. Just throwing this up in the air to get informed. You never know it all,,LOL

your going to be putting out more than double the stock horsepower, yet you want to run less than stock gearing.... with added power you gear UP some, this gives you more speed and you still accelerate faster.

OK, what would you recommend with double HP numbers with the 14 front???? I hear and understand completely what your saying, Maybe a 14 /38? I have a few 40's but i hate to go used with this new setup.

You have to modify your sprocket carrier to get a 38 on there, but its just grinding a spot for the chain or something simple.

Yeah dude, at LEAST 14/38. on your gearing. With 12/40 or 14/44 gearing you will be doing nothing but spinning your tires in the lower gears, and you will hit top speed FAST.

Now, your top speed WILL be higher than a stock blaster with that gearing becuase your engine with double the HP should also be able to rev up to ~9k rpm or higher, but still.

I run 18's and 14/40 gears and i think that is a great combo cause the power is there whenever you need it at any rpm and a pretty good top end as well
