I Need some help, i want to put a 12v battery on my blaster for the turn signals, hooter, brake, and headlamp. It should be charged from the normal stator. What i need is a diagram to do it. Here in Namibia it's legal to drive ATV's on public roads. I have installed all the "STUFF" already, and all is working, but my problem is when the headlamp is on there is not enough power for the turn signals to work.

Help in this regard will much be appreciated.

Thx

im no electrition but i beleive you should look into splicing the wires down by the front sprocket and hooking them up to a batery? im not sure if that would work so dont do it just yet but you can try

please post some pictures of ur blaster

Splicing

Well, i've done all the wiring on the bike myself, but do not know what "Splicing" means. I Know that there is 1 wire with power, which i've taken to a fuse box where all the other stuff is all connected to. My problem is, there should be a regulator of some sort to regulate the amount of volts and amps that runs into the battery, otherwise the battery may or can explode.

Here are some pics.

Just remember, its stock standard with all the other stuff i build on.

@idahoaj1 and suprex
So what you are saying, is that i can connect a battery to the otherside of the Regulator, or directly off the magneto to the battery? Then a positive to my fusebox? And all will be ok.....

@ blasterman312
I bought it of another scraped bike, and modified the kill switch to turn left and right, and installed a hooter button on the existing Handlebar switch.

I'm gonna guess

I have a friend that used to hunt out your way, alot. You are wanting to park the quad and leave the lights on, right?

If so, just run a switch to the battery and the lights you want on. They should stay on for awhile, hour or so I'd guess.

yeah... if you get a 4.5 AH battery and use 25w lights

25 x 2 = 50W

50w / 12v = 4.17A

4.5 / 4.17 = 1.08hours

so, you should get just over an hour.

but in the real word of resistance and tolerance variables, i would bet on 45 - 50 minutes.

and.. don't hook your battery to your magneto... seriously.

Diagram

Hi,

Can any of you guys help me with a diagram, or schetch how to connect the wires to a battery, and then to my fuse box.

I'm not using it for hunting, i'm using it for general transport, in other words, i'm using signal lights = 4, brake light = 1, park = 1, hooter = 1, and the headlamp = 1. I need a battery on this to keep constant power, not like the old 1, where you rev and the headlamp goes brighter. If i'm driving at night, and the headlamp is on, the signal lights dont work, because of too little power.

Any schetches, or diagrams???

you have a fuse box???

you have a few options.....

you could get a high output stator (rickystator.com)

or, you could rig a system to your battery.
you can get a pretty cheap charging system for your battery.... purchase a 12v battery charger....connect it to your main outputs from your stator with an inline fuse, then connect the charger to your battery with an inline fuse, then connect all your goodies from there... as you drive the stator will keep the battery charged.

you have to select the charger correctly... make sure it has a charging tolerance of 12-15v (the max the magneto puts out).

also, size and mounting location will be an issue... good luck with that.

you may also need an inline voltage regulator and resistor... regulator to keep the incoming voltages at a constant and a resistor to allow one way current flow, to prevent backfeed.

BUT... i would just run the blinkers, horn, and tail light from the magneto.
and use a battery for the headlights and be done with it.
yes.. you would have to charge it up after an hour, but it would be simple and easy. plus you can always buy two or three batteries to keep on hand, and charge then the night before...

hope this helps.

do not connect the battery any way to the stator, it will fry the stator and harness, it might not if you have them divided by a fuse but still,i would look into a big 4x4 stator and upgrade all the wiring. i thnk the closest quad to a blaster with a battery in the warrior. i would look into, u would have to modify it i would think but just a suggestion.

ugh i wish i understood what anyof this was... MAKE A DIY PPL!!! PICTURES US SIMPLETONS NEEEED PICTURES!!!

i think my dads an electrition or sumthin idk maybe i should talk to him everyonce in awhile? afterall he is in the same house lol

... wait is he an electrition?

Anybody figure this out yet? I really want to add electric start to my Blaster but I need to figure out how to recharge the battery. I think you could use the Lighting coil to do this but the power has to be regulated back to the battery.

Any ideas or wiring diagrams to add a battery?

Diagram Sketch

Hi all

This is a diagram i edited to give you an idea of what i changed in my blaster.
As you can see, the 12v runs through the regulator, then to fuse box, and then to the other electical parts.

My question is, how to put a battery in that 12v line to regulate 12v to 14v to the battery, not more, otherwise battery can pop under my ass.

Really need help in this regard.
