I recently got an 05 blaster and it starts only after manually choking the carb with my hand. It starts to idle then dies but when I try to ride it, it won't rev up at all no matter how much gas I give it. it sounds the same at full throttle as it does barely giving it any gas. It really makes no sense because it revves up with some hesitation but it still built rpm. I'm not too familiar with 2 strokes so hopefully someone might know whats going on, any help is appreciated.

Welcome. Some things to check. Check compression, with a tester, not a finger. Disassemble the carburetor and completely clean it. I mean really clean! All jets & passages! If you use search you can find a description of the TORS system, or Throttle Override System. A sometimes problematic electronic throttle safety system. You can also find tors wiring info and how to delete the system if you choose to. Just about anything you could ask about Blasters is answered in the search archives .
Good Luck! 🍻

It could be a fuel or air issue. Since it only starts when you choke it by hand, it’s likely running too lean and not getting enough fuel. Try cleaning the carb completely, especially the jets and passages, because even a small blockage can cause this problem. Also check for any air leaks around the intake boot or reed cage, and make sure you’re using fresh fuel with the right oil mix. After cleaning and sealing everything properly, it should idle and rev much better.
