Yamaha quad starter issue HELP

Heres what happening.. Help me please
The starter will spin but the engine won't crank.. What should I check for?

Battery low in charge.

Some have a chain drive.

Some have dogs that grab.

Some have a bendix that the gear rides on.

Which does your have.

Not 100% but most Likey has bendix

If it is a bendix it is prob gummed up with oil or dirt, they should be clean and dry

If I clean it you think that would fix the issue

It sure would help if it is sticking.

Another prob could be that the starter motor has got lazy and the initial inertia is not great enough to throw the gear.

Ok I'm pulling the starter off tonight and if all checks out ill maybe buy a starter or just keep pull starting it.
