WTF???

sweet, glad your rippin now
better get that plug chop done, gray and dry spells trouble, lean trouble

and your welcome, but i gotta thank you too, without these problem threads i'd be bored outta my mind sometimes
it's what we love to do, diagnose these same embarrassing problems we've all done ourselves before !!!!

Ok first i want to say damn this thing is sick!!!!!!!

And second awk youre the man!!!My cable was zip tied too tight and not allowing me to idle down.So after i lined that out i set the a/f at 1.5 turns and it seems right on the money seemed to be where it idled the highest then i set the idle with the set screw from motion pro seems the reason it had no effects on idle was because of the cable.

But me and my bro went riding today and this thing walked all over his blaster and his is an ice racer and for what it is gets with it.Has a DG pipe/silencer,boysens/reed spacer, and keihin and for right now thats all we know.

Ive not done a plug chop yet on the new a/f settings but the plug went from black as the ace of spades and wet to a greyish look and not wet.I think it can be refined more but im leaps and bounds from where i was.

So to all you guys who respnded thanks even though finding out the problem (me making a dumb ass newbie mistake) was a little embarassing lol i say thanks i appreciate it.

Newbie mistakes happen man, I once stuck a banshee opposite side slide in a blaster carb and couldn't figure out what was wrong for TWO DAYS! Pouring gas out of the tailpipe and couldn't figure out why... glad to hear you got your problem figured out!

The way it's running right now, add 10% or more if you had a good airbox, filter, and carb. That stock carb really is limiting that monster and you should looking around for deals to swap that thing out.

Again, glad to hear you got it mostly hammered out. Now do a WOT plug chop to dial in that main jet and go spank some tail.

Awk, good eye mang!

AWK ive got a 340 main in it which the highest i have.Should i maybe move the jet needle to a different position out of the 6 locations on the needle its 2 above the middle if i remember correctly will that help my apparent lean condition?

Glad to hear im not alone i felt like a total douche bag lol

Im very maticulous when im working on something and i just was shocked something that dumb was what i was doing.but yea its getting with the program now!

I put the jet needle back into the stock middle position and will be doing a plug chop tomorrow.

The jet needle was in the 4th position from the bottom up ando i lowered it one to the stock middle section will this have a positive effect on jetting?Or should i have left it alone until the plug chop?Im extremely paranoid about frying this motor.I also just did a compression test and at 44 degrees out and it ice cold ive still got 165psi so im hoping my novice retard moment didnt cost me any life on the engine.

The plug upon further inspection doesnt look like its lean but it isnt exactly the tannish cardboard color either kinda in between the two.Either way it seems very close and i again cant thank those of you who chimed in and helped me line this out i appreciate it.

Im definately on the hunt for a 35mm carb anyone got a spare intake boot theyre willing to part used of course with the 70 bucks on ebay seems a little steep imo for literally 25 cents worth of rubber.Or maybe a how to on "HONKEY ENGINEERING" one from scratch?

165 psi says all is still good
and yes, i'd say your on the right track richening that needle
dropping the needle clip one position richened it, and i say leave it in the middle where you have it now, but you could drop the clip one more to richen it even further just to see how it reacts ???? it might want more fuel in the mids, one quick rip to see how it feels wont hurt anything, try both, the middle and 4th position down, then do that proper plug chop to dail in that main

and a few guys on here have dremel'd out the stock boot to accept larger carbs
but i wouldn't risk it, that has to make it aweful thin and prone to ripping causing an airleak

Awesome bro you just keep up the good news for me!!!!

Yea im extremely paranoid of torching the motor again especially since im building my KDX back up as we speak and another blaster i really cant afford to have any catastrohic failures or issues.

So as for the intake boot is there anywhere else that i can get one for less than 70$?That still just dont sit right with me for a little rubber ya know?

the upp and snyder seem to be the cheapest at around $65/70
keep your eye out for a used one

Thanks bro i wll.

Just wondering but is there another engine that shares the same pattern as the blaster on the intake but used a bigger carb i could adapt to use on mine?Probably not or you would of recommended it huh lol
