if i blew the base gasket would it cause my blaster 2 start then rev itself high, enough to were i have to cut it off.

maybe cause its sucking in air. when i blew out my base gasket it was lean but didn't rev insanely high.. i would go ahead and replace all your gaskets and see if that helps if not i would check out ur carb..

it started when i was riding and it felt like it was loosing power it was spittering when i took off, then once rpm's weres up it was ok

spray some carb cleaner around the base gasket area and if it does something different then you have a bad base gasket...
if it falls on its face in the top end of the rpms then your too lean...
and if it stumbles everywere then your too rich

of coarse it will/can you have a fine balance of an air and fuel ratio .as your piston is pumping through its stroke it is drawing crankcase pressure through your intake to get this ,idealy it pulls out through the carb body and reed cage but if theres a breach it will find cracks ,broken boots, blown gaskets and draw large amounts of additional air from them which will lean it out and throw off the A/F ratio ,it can then make it panic rev or if its minor atleast throw the jetting way off and make it erratic

hmmm.. new base gasket.. $7.50... not fixing it and riding anyways... bore, new piston and rings, base reed and head gasket $150... tring to get a bike with a blown base gasket to idle...priceless

lol good point :p

heres and idiah, i just changed my air filter and the person befor me who owned it had 2 air filters on (one over the other) when i changed it i only put one on would that throw my carb tuning off? also just realized it runs and idles fine when on choke but as soon as i push it in it revs high.

18 footpounds...whats the result of your leakdown test...do that before you tear it down. pull the flywheel and stator and the clutch cover, mix up some dishsoapy water in a windex spray bottle, spray the main seals... spray the seam where the case halves come together.
