Ok let me start by explaining what went wrong before I explain what I've done...

3 months prior to my quad shutting down I had the top end rebuilt, boared over, just regular seasonal sh*t, and I was taking it pretty easy, breaking it in and what not. I decided one day to drive it to a buddy's house who lives about 3 miles away. (This was not the first time I had it opened up through sixth gear, but was the longest time it had been continuously in sixth opened up since being maintenanced.) Anyways....I was about 2.5 miles in to my trip when it started to sputter like. The closest thing I can attribute it to was the sound of like an airplane stalling. It sounded like it was possibly gasping for air/fuel??? It just sort of bogged out but was lunging forward a couple times like it wanted to go, then just suffocated and died.

I file plugs all the time so I just figured thats what was up, but when I changed the plug no go....

When I kick it, the motor turns, nothings seized, but the headlight was not flickering. So after I checked the bulb, it still wouldn't flicker, so I just assumed from here that I had an electrical problem, not sure if thats the case but I dont know a whole lot about the thing so after talking with some friends that do, thats the direction I went.

So far here is what I replaced/ tested (in order) and still have the same issue...

-Plug Cap/ wire

-Ignition Coil

-kill switch

-CDI Unit

-Stator coils

...the air filter is clean, nothing clogging the carb (that I can see), and I had plenty of fuel at the right mixture.

Please, if anyone has had similar problems or know what could possibly causing my heartache, help! I'm running out of ideas and becoming increasingly frustrated. THANK YOU!!!!

Has the flywheel come loose on the shaft?

How much compression do you have?

What oil and ratio?
