wont shift after top end rebuild

Hey guys I rebuilt my top end and started the break in process and now my blaster will go into 1st, neutral, 2nd, but wont go into any other gears. What happened and is there any quick fixes? I relly dont wanna crack open the case!

check ur shift star in could have broke some how :-/

Trans have oil? Clutch adjusted ? Shifter tight? Shift shaft bent? No problems before? Might have to pull clutch cover and check shift star is tight on drum, and rest of mechinisum is good.

What Larry said, if that doesn't work sounds like bent/broken shift fork(s).

what else did you do while you were doing the top end? Do you happen to change the transmission oil? Did you put the bolt back in without putting the copper washer on?

The drain bolt without the washer will go too far into the transmission area and will contact the shift drum not allowing it to turn past second (sometimes third depending on the length of the bolt)
