To give a back story, when I bought the 2000 Blaster it had a twist throttle, so the TORS wasn't hooked up. One day the throttle stuck engine revved way high it, kill switch didn't work nor did the key turning off, it shut off after I pushed it down to my house.

I bought a mint stock thumb throttle off ebay put that on, I also rebuilt the carb. It starts and runs great but the engine doesn't idle. I connected the TORS still doesn't idle. disconnected it no idle. Did all adjustments took apart the carb again, still no idle. Done everything I can think of still no idle.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any fixes to this problem, or has experienced this and got it to idle again. Thanks.

Try adjusting the idle (the big slotted screw head under the seat on top of the TORS assembly). What caused the throttle to stick? How did you kill the engine when it over revved? How long did it sustain this high idle?

I've tried to adjust the TORS screw under the seat and nothing, also I do have free play on the throttle.

As far as what caused it to stick I believe it was the aftermarket twist throttle that the previous owner had put on, I was turning around in the road shifted into first and it started to rev high when i was giving it gas, I put it into neutral, tried the kill switch and key nothing, then my brother ran down we pushed it back to my house and it died when it got into my yard so wasn't that much time of high idle.

And you've tried unplugging both the thumb throttle switch and the carb switch at the same time??

If this doesn't help, then it is prob the carb. Did you adjust the float? Did you clean the pilot jet and make sure you can see through it? Did you spray through all the passages, especially the pilot and idle passages?

Yeah we did all of that my buddy and I, actually left it at his house he has a barn we were working on it in. he was messing with the choke he had to adjust and it had to do with that I guess. So its all back up and running.

Appreciate the responses guys!
