I have out it in third gear and floored it it won't go over 10 it's not the parking break the smoke doesn't stink idk about the needle I redid the top end the rest was done in a shop

all i did was take of the head replace the piston and all the gaskets
and idk what heat cycles are so im assuming i just rode it

heat cycles is running it at idle until the head gets almost hot to where you cant keep your hand on it, then shutting it off and waiting until it cools. It allows the gaskets to properly form and seat to my understanding.

after heat cycles, it would be a good idea to do a leakdown test.

How much total ride time on new piston? Has it ran like this since you got it going? Is air cleaner clean? Did you ever ride quad before new piston? Is T.O.R.S. still hooked up? What year is it?

First thing you do on a fresh rebuild is a leak down test the make sure the motor is air tight.

One has to perform a series of heat cycles to break in a fresh build.

Start the motor, bring up to operating temp by blipping the throttle.

Leave it to cool for 30 mins or more.

Do the cycle for 3-5 times, then retorque the head and jug bolts.

Ride the bike at no more that 3/4 throttle for 2 tanks of gas.

theres no ride time on the new piston it ran perfectly when i got it i rode it for one day and it fell apart whats the TORS and 1993
