I am having to rebuild the bottom end on my blaster, the rod snapped. I have been looking for crankshaft kits, and Vito's has one on clearance for $112 and Wiseco is like $150. Any thoughts or preference on either. I have searched threads and have found horror stories with both. I would like to get insight on people who have used them in the past or know of people who have. I just want to have something reliable, not looking for racing or performance, just rebuilding it for my son to use to take out with me when me go cruising. any info will gratefully be appreciated.

I have no idea, Im not doing the rebuild, my friend is. He tore down the top end and said there was a lot of play in the rod vertical movement. He said it was shot, I would need another crank and rod. He told me he couldn't just replace the rod, I guess there is special tools needed, he said just buy a kit it comes with everything. The piston seized about 6 months ago I am just getting around to fixing it all now since it is warming up.

I run a few vitos 3mm cranks with the stuffers on highly modded builds and have never had one single issue with any of the vitos cranks. For $112 you can't go wrong.

I am only aware of one Vito's crank failure within the last 3+ years on here, which poster thought it was more operator error than anything. And don't really recall any other crank failures, at least without tons of hours on them.

I was seriously considering the stock stroke crank, especially at that price. But I've managed to scrape some extra $$$ together and will be going with the +3 stroker.

Don't cheep out, get new bearings and seals, be sure to lube shaft where seal rides.

You can't even rebuild a crank for the price of the Vito's, and not much less than the Hot Rods,

Stock OEM is of the highest quality ,so there is nothing to worry about.
OR... Send your OEM crank to Ken for a quality rebuild at a more than fair price.

I talked to Ken about possibly getting a new crank for my build and he said anything but a wiseco he said you couldn't pay him enough to put one in poor quality control
