my mom is going to try to buy me a bigger quad before her unemployment runs out. there is a 2006 Yamaha YFZ450 Special Edition about an hour from me for 2200 and then there is a 2004 Yamaha Raptor 660R Special Edition about 30-45 mins from me for 2100. neither one of them has anything wrong with them. the YFZ has Curtis Sparks full exhaust system, K&N air filter, no airbox lid, and it's jetted. the Raptor has HMF exhaust, jetted, and K&N air filter.

If your moms unemployments about to run out keep what you got and dont let your mom stress about your extra wants until she gets back to work. Just my 2 cents.

I'm a parent and I can see where his mom is coming from , you like to see your kids happy and not suffering ( compromising ) or as little as possible . And maybe selling the blaster is part of the deal as well so it won't make as big a purchase . I'd say get the 450 and take really good care of it and clean your room a lot and do some dishes .

i say just buy some wider a-arms and make the blasty a little better for cheaper.
the 660R suck ass, they are costly when they break, and after talking to a few workers at the dealer, they are designed to break. i went through 2 one way clutches on mine along with lots of other costly stupid sh*t.
and for 2200 that 450 has been abused.

i say neither, if your mom is about to lose her income and i assume you dont have a job since ur mom is buying you a quad what happens when something breaks? instead of a nice easy fix like you would have with the blaster you can EASILY be in to hundreds of dollars to fix even small stuff on those. also you must have a really nice mom, to buy a quad when unemployement is about to run out sound crazy to me, good luck with whatever you do

You could make an awesome blaster for 2200... but if you had to get one, I'd say YFZ.

pretty much like everyone is saying, i woulndt get one right now. time isn't right if your mom is no longer going to have an income. very very nice of her to offer to buy you a quad though! i'd put the money into the blaster though if i had the option. up to you though.

for any confusion, he wrecked his quad and its kinda jacked so i think that is why his mom is doin that, maybe sell the blaster and then get the 450 or the raptor, if ur gonna race, get the yfz, ir ur gonna do trails and want great reliabliily, get the 700

or if you need some parts, i got a good frame, swingarm and upper a-arms you can have for cheap, and i mean cheap.

on the blaster i have bought brand new handlebars and got a new +2 steering stem for it but the axle is still bent. i have brand new front bearings and a brand new steel braided clutch cable to put on it when i get a chance. but mom knows that what i put into the blaster i could never get back out of it so she wanted to get me something bigger and better. and a 450 wouldn't be a problem i work on motors all the time but i do it for my buddies for free i just like the experience and i like working on them.

also i have tons of toys but only 1 quad and if i get a bigger one the blaster will most likely be for sale.
