hello guys and gals. id like to get a little input from ya. this past weekend my blasty puked the piston out the silencer. the stock cylinder was already at 68mm, so time to find another one or resleeve. i found a guy here local that has a complete la sleeve bbk, and a vito's bbk with standard and hemi head. smae price for both. a steal really, but any way, both stock 72 mm bore. which one should i get in your opinions? and is a 34mm pj carb is big enough for these with a 3mm stroker crank? thanks in advance

the la sleeve bbk is far superior to the vito's
and i'd say that 34pj is on the small side for either, most guys run 35/36's with the bbk, and even some 38's

You have to ask whether this is a LA sleeve "sleeve" kit or a LA sleeve replacement cylinder.

If it's a replacement cylinder, the port layout is far superior to the stock or vito's cylinder.

If it's a "sleeve" kit, the port layout is nearly identical to factory and the vito's triple exhaust is better.

^^^^ good link for identifiying the LA Sleeve replacement cylinder from the others.

The only way to identify a "sleeve" kit is to measure the bore diameter and confirm that is it 72mm.

It's not that vito's kit is chopped liver... it sounds bad to talk about it that way...

It's that the port layout and cooling fin design on the LA sleeve cylinder is better (read: puts out more power and less likely to overheat)

The vito's kit can lay out some serious horsepower but if you had to choose between a Vito's 240 kit and an LA sleeve 240 kit, you BETTER go with the LA sleeve 240 kit.

huge pics are really nice to be able to see the carnage.

You will have to split the cases and pull that crank. If you are REALLY lucky the crank survived but the crank saddle bearings are ruined.

Also, flip the case over and take a picture of the bottom. One whole US dollar you have a fracture somewhere around the case.

That's the project for this weekend. I'm not even gonna mess with that crank. It'll get a stroker put in. Everything new, bearings, 3mm stroker, la sleeve bbk, seals except the cases, if they are ok. It blew at full tilt. Lol
