Okay so I'm getting my swing arm +3 by a guy who does then, he wants to know where I want the shock mount , I have a 450r rear shock, where should I put it ?

If you put at the completely stock position, the shock absorber will have slightly less effective spring and valving. That's good if you're a lighter rider.

The stock position is the best. Your not gonna do better then the group of Japanese people that engineered it.
What you can do since someone is building your swinger is raise and lower the mount to suit the ride height you want.
This is something not to be taken lightly. If it were me I'd find a way to mock up different positions while sitting on the bike.

my 450r shock felt amazing in the stock location, on the stock length swinger @ my 180+ lbs.
you'll be just fine with it in the stock location, with or without an extended swinger.
this is for just a trail machine right ?

I run a +4 with the shock mount in the stock location with a trx450r shock. rides awesome and I like the lower center of gravity

Have him make a plate with adjustable mounts.Giving you 5 different settings, that way u can fine tune it for different riding,I did mine like that and love it.
