When putting the cases together?

Now, I have to admit to having used a rubber mallet on a case half that wouldn't slide down over dowel pins (usually because prior case damage made the dowel alignment pins a REALLY tight fit) but only after I had made ABSOLUTELY sure that nothing else was holding it up.

For someone who hasn't done it enough to be super comfortable with it, I'm with slick. DON'T USE A HAMMER!

Gotcha, maybe a few more rebuilds will get me more comfortable. ALl in the learning experience!

The good news is, blasters are cheap and easy (about the easiest ATV engine out there!) to rebuild, repair, and replace.

Unfortunately, there are a few golden rules and tricks of the trade that you should not break and should adhere to. Some of them aren't covered in the manual and you can really only learn and appreciate from experience!

WHOA! do not under any circumstances EVER (which I cannot say about a rubber mallet) stick a screwdriver in between the case mating surfaces. It WILL end up in a gouge and ruin the mating surface (potentially permanently!) meaning an air leak forever or new/resurfaced cases.

good lord at the amount of jackleggery goin on here. lmao! there are 3 tools that you HAVE to have to replace a crank on a blaster. flywheel puller, case splitter, crank puller/installer tool. and use the tools! lol you guys out there beating with hammers and prying with flatblades on cases are well on your way to your next rebuild. Either pay a pro to do it, or be a pro at it yourself. that's all I got to say

EDIT Oh I forgot the 4th tool you HAVE to have A CLYMERS MANUAL
