When is it time to trash a carb?

I pulled the carb off my 96 to clean it out since It wouldn't start. The bowl was full of crap, and the rest of the carb was covered in deposits. I cleaned everything up, but the carb itself has been eaten up pretty badly. I wish I would have snapped a shot before I stuck it back on. The jets, choke, air/fuel valve are fine, but the carb body itself is pitted and worn down from years of gasoline exposure. When would you guys say is the right time to just toss the carb and get a new one?

if you think its that messed up i would just get a new one from ebay or somethin.i got a 30mm oko brand new for 86 shipped

have you checked the reeds? are you getting spark?

if the jets are all pitted, the airscrew is prolly real bad too.....u might just new a carb rebuild kit
