thinkin about gettin some different shocks since when i jump, i dont jump big, about biggest i get for jumps around here is about 5 ft MAX, and when i hit a 4ft one i can feel it barely bottom out, would like a more smoother ride along trails also, and have a budget of around 150-200 bucks for a front pair, not worried about rear. what you guys got in mind?

fox and elka both make shocks for the blaster but you are asking for the moon with those two brands inside that budget. works will fit your riding and needs much better

i've had works dual rate steelers on 2 different blasters over the years and they work great, i cannot remember ever bottoming them, even on jumps way bigger than you're talkin
keep you eye open on ebay, you may be able to get a set of works and a rear 400 ex for your budget
but be sure to ask, if it's not posted in the ad, what weight rider the works are set up for,
if your 200lbs. don't buy ones set up for a 135lb rider

and by dual rate you must mean clickers or rezzies right?

Agreed. If you find some used works shocks, ask the seller what the weight setup is for the rider. Mine were for a 160lb rider and I'm about 190lb and they are WAY too soft up front for me and I get way too much dive during braking because of the weight difference. I'm sending them out to get revalved and probably rebuilt if I don't do it myself.

im putting on my 400ex shocks in a few just need to go buy a 10mm bolt and putting it on. as for the front im getting the white banshee ones. ive heard a huge difference in this setup and plus is cheap. i dont wanna spend MAD money on shocks like that. unless ure a race then yea. i got my 400ex shock for 30 with shipping. u could find bashee fronts for like 50 with shipping

I'm running that shock setup right now. They're a good upgrade.

Don't pay more than about $50 shipped for the banshee shocks, they're not THAT good an upgrade. They're slightly better than stock blaster shocks.

The 400EX rear shock, however, is a stellar upgrade. It has the main features aftermarket shocks advertise, compression and rebound adjustable, threaded preload, rebuildable.

Remember, the 400ex rear is not a bolt and go ordeal. You've got to clearance the lower mount on the shock and get/make a bushing for the upper mount. Not an expensive or complicated process but something to consider while shopping around.

not exactly but if you know someone with a lathe, they can turn them out of mild steel bar stock.

Only if you know someone who will turn you out a favor for free is it cost effective to get it done locally, however. Ken O'Connor has an excellent price on his bushing kit to fit the 400EX shock on the blaster. That's what I'm running on my upper shock mount on my blaster.
