Just bought an used 04 and really dont know what this is, or what they had done to it. Good project blaster for $400 buck will post pics of it later.

Switch for parking brake limiter. Are there cut wires right at the end of it?

Yeah it is cut and the other end is under the front end somewhere. I picked it up this morning and havent really had a chance to look at it too much.

That looks more like the brake light switch even tho I don't have a newer style blaster..wait thats not the brake side sorry...It does look like two wires came out of it....

Yeah I found that diagram and it just says switch. No clue what switch. Guess I will look at my 03 tomorrow or follow the wire on this one til I find out where it goes.

neutral safety switch of sorts ? meaning you have to have the clutch lever pulled in to start it maybe ? almost looks like a lever setup from an electric start 4 stroke. I can see having one of those on a bike like that

its a parking brake switch. i am pretty sure the 03+ had parking brake switches that could fail sort of like the tors. there was a vid on here a while back where the blaster wouldnt idle very good. sounded like a steam engine. that was his problem.

yep, it's the parking brake limiter switch, i acts like the tors system by limiting the revs while the parking brake is on, i guess so nobody can rev out the motor and the brake pop off and away you go ????
not sure what yami's exact reasoning behind it, or the tors for that matter, but it's a useless and sometimes troublesome safety feature, and is better off eliminated.

eliminating it is very easy just put the wires together does it run ok? leave them together does it run bad? then isolate the loose ends
