Im in a hard desion..........i just got a new can am ds 450x and i still own my 98 blaster and my 89 warrior.......I have some cash should I put it all into the can am ds450x,do a blaster build,buy a 2010 klx110L.its kinda a stupied thread but im really dont no what to do...........I just dont see the point in dropin 2 g's into the blaster but at the same time i think there sick to
 
well how much do you have?
it would take a lot of work to make the blaster faster than the 450
if you have enough i say buy an exhaust for the 450 then spend the rest on the blaster
 
I have 2g's..............and i already has a full ron woods stage 1 kit for the can am.............and to be honest I really dont think a blaster can every be as fast...........ivv ridden modded blasters sure they can take a 400ex...........but i dont think a 450...........anyways so actally get the can am outta the picture...........buy a new klx110L or build the blaster and will 2g's be enoght to make a nice one
 
You can only ride one at a time... Take you chedda and spend it on the bike you like to ride the most. build it until you're hearts content. When it's done, move to the nxt!
 
well there is a way you can make that blaster as fast as that 450.
get a 240 kit +3 or 4 stroker whichever one you want send it to kennedy power and have him port it. he can get you some nice horsepower probably enough to beat your 450. i wouldnt be suprised he does really good work

Any Blaster (read :ANY BLASTER) that can hang with my TRX will not make the ride to the hill we race at. It just won't happen. I love our little Blaster, I'm fond of our Banshee, and I love my 450R. But I am here to tell you, you will have to tweak a Blaster so hard.........I mean nitro baby, it won't be able to make but a pass or two. And then it will be done.
 
I no i can only ride one at a time but I like to be able to pick or a nice backup bike. plus im gonna bring both bikes to this track this year and was gonna use the blaster as a ramp machine/tricks and stuff.............and the can am as my race machine both harescrambles and mx

thats what i was thinking ahah alittle air cooled 200cc sure can make decent power 30-40hp but no 50hp+ unless on race fuel and stuff
 
get a used KLX 110 and go to 2bros and get the 6 speed clutch kit or the 4 speed clutch kit and you may have some left over to get an exhaust from them.. thats my dream pit bike with the hydrulic 6 speed clutch and the biggest big bore they sell

seriously though, suspension makes the difference, with a 450 yyour not gonna be using all the power,especially not coming off a blaster, but suspension is key on any racers bike
 
well knowpig fyi. the stock hp of a yfz450 is 39 the stock hp of a trx450 is 38.
with a 240 kit and a stroker on a blaster ported by kennedy power can easily make over 40hp. so for a hell of a lot less than you can buy a 450 and upgrade it completley. you can fully mod out a blaster to beat them. so i have just proved you wrong nuff said
 
This is retarted (not the thread but these 2 arguing) You have to face something. Yeah 2 strokes are cool but 4 strokes are new technology. A 2 stroke no matter how much time, money, whatever, will never have the torque of a four stroke and in hill climbs, torque is everything.

like said thow without doubt a blaster is a great machine with a lot a upgrades that can be done you can make it have the power of a 450 hp wise but torque wise wont even be close and what happens if you mod this 450 just alittle it wreaks the blaster. blasters are great scondary bikes or for kids like 12-15 that are into racing them
 
ya torque wise the blaster would never be close. with the right mods a blaster will give a 450 a run for its money. when it comes to racing its not so much the power you have its the skill of the rider. you can have a ton of power but if your not a good rider how are you going to control that power. this is all just my opinion. do what you want to do its your money i can't tell you how to spend it.
 
well i wouldnt use a blaster for hillclimbs too much....2 strokes can still hold their own against the 4 strokes. cheaper to maintain also...

if i were you. i'd ditch the warrior, fix up the can am and the blaster. suspension is where its at for mx racing..well any kind of racing...gotta have suspension setup correctly...

well the can am is new I think im just gonna get a nice elka rear once im done with the blaster............and get the front shocks revalved im really inpressed with the stock shocks on the can am actally. I guess my blaster build is gonna start once is warm enoght for me to build my shed cause the ground is frozen right now and everything........so in about 1 month I think im gonna start a +3 stroker 240 blaster on race fuel
 
blasterdude, just shut up...i say that out of kindness...ahah but seriously, ur making urself sound like a fool sense the DS450s make 40hp STOCK(saw it in dirtwheels mag) u no were buds...just trying to not make urself sound dumb right now
 
but blas/bansh......i say get ur self suspension for ur ds....some fox floats or ohlins.....and u will be set for MX and HS.......and maybe a pipe and nerfs......i would mainly worry about the front suspension more than the rear
