lol well it is important but i dont know if its needed on ya bike lol you should have one on it like has already been said it looks like just a piece of high temp hose u just slide it over the end of ya header pipe and the other end of ya silencer pipe where they come together then clamp it down with a couple hose clamps thats assuming it is the right size but if yours is in good shape no sense messing with it.

yep .50 cents of radiator hose and 2 pipe clamps will do the same thing, mines 4 months old and still going.
