hey guys
i bought a used blaster and rode it for 4 months and it blewup
i took it to yamaha dealer to fix it and they had to take it to a machine shop and fix the sratches. the guy said it was scratched up real bad.
does this mean a stock piston will not fit my blaster anymore?
if so then how to i know what size piston is good for my blasty

this was when i didnt know anything about blasters. the bill was a sh*tload for me

depends if they could just Hone it then it will be the same size, but my guess is they bored it out to the next size, .10 over if it was on stock bore. they will be able to tell you what size it is.

yup piston is no good and you will need the machine shop to bore it out some. you can go as small as .010in depends on how bad the cylinder wall is messed up. the machine shop will be able to tell you how far it needsd to be bored and then you will just have to buy a oversized piston to match it. i run a wiseco prolite, i got it off ebay for $85 shipped. there are others the important thing is to get a forged piston not a cast one.

yes they bored your cylinder and they changed the piston its now bigger than stock but when the time comes for a fresh top end as long as the cylinder looks good than clean the top of the piston that is in there off with carb cleaner and it should be engraved with the size of piston youll need
