i have a 1991 blaster for a week and i wanna adjust the idle screw there is a small one kinda sunken in i belive is the carb then next to it is a big gold screw i think one is idle and one is mixture or somthing i dont have a manuel and the one i saw on here says its like under the seat? i dident see anything at all that made no sense to me please help what one is it and how do i adjust it ?

If you still have TORS, the brick thing on top of the carb, the idle screw is on the top.

If no TORS,the big screw lifts the slide to give idle, and the little sunken one adjusts the air mix of the idle.

They work in conjunction with each other.

The little one should be 1 to 1 1/2 turns out for a good idle.

To adjust idle turn the big screw to get about 1500 revs, a high idle. Adjust the air screw in about 1/8 increments each way until a highest speed is obtained, using only the air screw. Readjust big screw to get correct idle speed.

If you cant get idle using this way, you may need to clead the carby, or check for air leaks.

You say you have only had it a week. If I were you I would be checking for air leaks very soon.

Its a big ugly thing right on top of the carb.

It is under the seat and has a big slotted, knurled knob on it, this is the idle adjustment.

TORS stand for throttle over ride system, but it usually becomes nothin more then a problem ... If there's no problem you can leave it, but chances are it will become a problem one day. If your engine ever won't start or dies when you give it gas, and its not carb, compression, or reed related it will most likely be thanks to your TORS. There's some really good threads under DIY to show you how to remove it and if look at ppls signatures you'll notice many ppl have already deleted it to avoid the headache !
