what mounts on this tab? The one just above and to the left of the swingarm bolt. I believe its a 89 frame.

That tab is not factory. Someone has added a mount for a hydraulic master cylinder to that frame. It *LOOKS* like it's a long clevis master too, like a street bike master cylinder...

Ok thanks guys, i was thinking the same thing cause i couldnt find another frame picture anywhere that had it.

The trick isn't "what" bolts there. It's a nissin hydraulic master cylinder.... the trick is, what did "what bolts there" come off of originally. That way you can find another one just like it and bolt it on there. Modify the pedal and find a hydraulic rear caliper off Ebay and BAM you've got your rear brakes.

as per our pm's
get me the center to center measurements of those holes,
i have gsxr and banshee masters here, maybe i can figure out which one bolts on ??
i may also have one of each, that need rebuilt, i could send you just to check, then order the correct working one ???

and my experience is most streetbike masters have way shorter rods than thats gonna require, i do have a banshee style one here that has an extra long ass rod on it, might just work if the holes align ??
you may also be able to use a "rod coupler" to extend another piece of rod ???

my other experience with masters mounted in that location is they interfere with kicking the kicker ??

I have a banshee master on my yellow blaster and it's SUPER short :-/

maybe i should have stated above..."banshee style" master, as they have the non threaded, offset mounting holes, which is what i have here, with an almost 6" rod on it ???
where as the gsxr/streetbike masters have aligned, threaded mounting holes

My master cylinder came off a warrior, excuse me. I had to think back on the Ebay auction. It has two offset non-threaded holes but a super short threaded rod and clevis...

I believe the same master cylinders are used on pretty much every jap rear hydraulic system out there.... except 2 and 4 piston caliper systems.

Yea i kept that mount there cause i thought it may be a master cly. mount but it does seem kinda high and in the way. Ill take some measurements and pics for you tomorrow Awk. Scott prolly has a shee master cyl. that i could try and mount up to it. I will be going back over his house next weekend, i could try it then.

got ya a little more info while i was down my shop today....

in the pic below.........
the top master is a stock, 04/05/06 gsxr,600/750/1000
the bottom one is an unknown banshee style master, with a long ass rod on it ????

the gsxr holes are 45mm apart, and measures 80mm from the bottom hole to the clevis to pedal hole

the shee(?) holes are offset, and 68mm apart, with that rod coming in at 130mm from bottom hole to clevis hole

all measurements are center to center

The rod on that shee master looks longer than mine. Odd.

If you have a welder I would definitely move that mount. Im not sure if you've already cut off the other tabs to make awks kit work

yes, he did cut off all the mounts for my usual kits, i can see it in the pic above, we're working on making something work

edit:
after getting pm'd measurements, i agree, cut that mess off, i can include steel mounts to get welded onto the anlgeld frame below with the kit, instead of the aluminum bolt on

similar to this, but with gsxr master instead of shee........
