What kind of rear brake setup is this?

So I've been stripping down the 2nd Blaster I have and while working on the rear swingarm I noticed a couple things.

1 - swingarm is cracked

2 - There is some weird rear brake setup. Possibly hydraulic

Someone welded up a "bracket" for this caliper and since I have no idea what it is I don't know if it's worth keeping.

Looks like the caliper is hydraulic, definitely needs to be rebuild and is missing the pistons. But I'm new to this so I could be wrong.

Can someone shed some light as to what to do here?

is the swinger is crack, you might have to get another

and that is a dual piston hydro caliber. not sure oh what it came off of though.
the banjo bolt is rusted
one bleeder screw has signs of corrosion
and the brake line end fitting is fubared.

and since it is missing a piston, you might be better off getting another rear caliper, maybe one off a banshee or new blaster.

^^ ill second that

but get the brand name off it. Google the brand name find some part number and just research

sumitomo is a well known caliper company.
they make calipers for the skyline and other nissans, along with some toyotas.
it appears to be a caliper from a yamaha sports bike. from some google searches, R1, R6 FZ1, FZR400 use a sumitomo caliper.

my guess it is from the FZR400 since their rear caliper is a dual piston sumitomo, see last link

The swinger is going in the trash, it's cracked all the way around.

Would it be worth using this caliper or cut off that welded bracket and use the regular hydro setup?

that caliper looks like it is junk.
plus you said it was missing a piston, that cant be easy or cheap to find. you be better off getting another one.

I was taking a better look at this today and the welding job on the bracket is actually quite good, meaning it will probably trash the carrier in the removal process. :(

looks like its mounted similar to how i mount my gsxr rear hydro kits
