what is a plug chop?

That link didnt work!!! But is that where u.get. it in the top of third pull the cluch in and hit the kill switch and pull the plug???

You start with the old plug to warm it up. Stick the new plug in and nail it and top it out for about 5 seconds in 6th gear. Don't let off the gas. Just hit the clutch and kill switch at the same time. Cut the threads off and check the color.

Really i should cut the threads off the plug? And i have to get it toped out? And what color should it be?

I can vary, but generally between cardboard brown and meduim brown. Gray is lean and dark brown/blk is rich.

Like demon said use an old plug to warm it up, put a fresh one in for the test.

Take a saw and cut around the plug where the threads meet the rest of the spark plug. You don't want to cut strait threw because you need to save the white center part.

Here's what your looking for. (This is slightly rich)

Yes highest idle but smoothest transition when you stab the throttle, no stumbles and hanging idle.

Most of us (who do not race) use the middle clip (usually the third position) and that does great. If you are anal and want the very perfect setup ya may want to try different positions (which i did) and see if that gives better response. I have even used a different needle just to see differences and learn, most I couldn't tell a difference.

But before you plug chop make sure you do a leakdown test or you will never get that motor jetted properly.
