What should I use for gear case oil. I have heard of guys using Type F tranny oil. Or just plain 10/40. I'm going to running it in winter and summer weather.

Type F tranny fluid is what most people use, I myself just use the old non detergent oil in mine. It doesn't have all the cleaning additives in it and its great for wet clutchs.

You can use any motor that doesn't have friction modifiers in it.... Good luck finding some though!

I recommend ATF (type F if you please). It's lightly colored red so you can see contamination, has high temperature and high shear strength additives, but most importantly no FRICTION MODIFIERS. It's designed from the ground up to work with wet clutches (what are automatic transmissions afterall, than wet clutch packs and a control valve body to work them!?) and can handle the heat and beating a blaster transmission can dole out.

I'm going to be running it in my dragger.... Tell you after that expedition how it works!

I use 10/40 ams oil "power sport", like all have said it very important to use a oil made for wet clutches. Hence the oil type being called power sport or motorcycle ... Etc

But I will say tranny fluid sounds like a great idea, one which I never knew about. I have heard it help to separate water, in cases where the moto is "swamped"
