Well i pulled the head off my 02 blaster andd found a puddle of unburnt 2 stroke mix outside of the gaskett. Is it a blown head gasket?? It had compression just not good compression.

Also i cant tell of this spark plug is fouled, bought a new one anyway.

the piston and everything are fine no score marks on cylinder or anything. this top end had just been rebuilt lately.

was it properly heat cycled and head/cylider bolts retorqued after the recent rebuild ?

and you can never "see" a fouled plug, oil gets up in between the electrode and porcelien, causing it to fire internally instead of out the end of the electrode

did you do a leakdown test before you tore it down? did it make any pinging noises while it was running?

I would replace the head gasket since you have it apart, do a leak down and a compression test after getting it back together

I know they were torqued but dont know about the heat cycled. How would you be able to tell and if not how would you do that?

no pinging. was in the middle of going to do a plug chop and then it just bogged going into fifth and slowed down until it stopped and shut itself off. i took it home and it had a 70 psi compression. when i got it it had a 115 psi. I dont have a leakdown tester but will be buying one before i ride again.

you don't need a temp gauge, just let it warm up till you almost can't hold your hand on the head, then cool completely, repeat 3-5 times, cool completely again and retorque the head and base bolts again to specs found in the manual, downloadable in the general support section on here................

bog out and shut off ???
tried a new plug ??
have you checked the reeds ?
was the petcock on ???

Alright. New plug was tried, wouldnt refire. Reeds were checked today and were alright. as soon as some funds come back in from your brakes xD ill be replacing them. haha. And to be honest. i dont know what the petcock is and does and where its located. Noob here. lol

petcock = fuel shutoff/reserve valve right under the gas tank

yes was on and functioning. the carb is clean and nothing blocking any of the lines or nothing. It lost alot of ccompression after riding and it getting hot. after i put it in 5th gear it just bogged itself all the way out.

you may have caught it in time, 2 ways to tell .......pull the cylinder and have the bore and piston measured, or throw a new head gasket on, heat cycle, retorque, and give it a go
heat cycles are not just to allow the rings to seat, they also allow the gaskets to expand/contract and seal properly

just out of curiousity, what mods, carb and jetting were you running ?

.50 over bore
Full pro curcuit exhaust
stock carb

and the rest is pretty much stock.

I believe the jetting at last check wass 290 on the main.

I mix to 32:1

that all sounds good, do the heat cycles/retorque on the new head gasket and see what happens
