what big bore sleeve kit is better

hello and welcome to blasterforum. please direct your eyes to the top of your screen where there is this nifty little word that says SEARCH. please feel free to use this button as often as possible and keep in mind that there is no limit to the amount of times you may use it.

if the complexity of the search button is too much for you to follow, there is the alternate method of finding the answer to your questions. with this method all you need to do is select the specific category that you are looking for. take the engine category for example. here you may now look at the most recent 25 threads that have been posted in. maybe your answer isnt there? ok, at the bottom of that page, there is a noce little row of numbers on teh bottom right side. click the number 2 and you will find the next 25 posts that have been posted in. if the topic is not on that page, click the number 3.

while it is understood that this method takes longer than the search above, it is an almost guranteed way to find the answer to just about every question that you may have. while also not clogging up the section with 10000000000 posts on the same damn question because people are too inept to look around before asking a question.

thank you, have a great day and welcome to the site. I: I=))

pffft ignore the viking. if im not mystaken(pretty much positive cuz most ppl hate vitos) the la sleeve is the sh*t. defently the la. i only bought a big bore cuz i got a mad deal.

Get the la sleeve it comes with a forged wiseco piston. But be aware by the time you pay a machine shop to install a sleeve kit and get it port matched. It might cost you more money than buying a good used vito's off ebay. If you keep your eye out they sometimes go pretty cheap.

Some people don't have time to sift through a bunch of threads.
If you buy the sleeve kit, you won't gain much performance because of the stock port latout. Those small ports need to be opened up to allow the extra flow. So if you are really serious about building a fast 240, you need to do the following:

1. Buy sleeve.
2. Pay machine shop to install.
3. Get the head machined to match the larger bore.
At this point you may have gained 3-5 horsepower.
4. Get it ported by reputable builder.
5. Get a 35-38mm carb.
At this point you will have gained a good 15-20 hp over stock, considering you have a good pipe.
All in all you will have spent close to $750 for roughly 35-40 total horsepower. Not bad.
Let's see. I have a 240 cylinder fully race ported with specially machined head I'd let go for $180 shipped to your door. It needs to be bored out, and needs a new piston. That will run you about $140. All you would need then is a big carb and you would be running that 240 at full potential...
Or you could get a real nice gain by getting a port job if you don't plan on going all out. You'll see twice the gain as you would with that big bore kit alone......Trust me, I know from experience and wasting of money....It's on you tho...

if i get a 240 big bore ,a bigger carb and port it out how good will it run

OK. Let me try to make this simple.
Say a Blaster has 15 hp stock.
A pipe and filter will give you 4-5 more, or close to that.
Add GOOD porting you get close to 10 more.
Add a carb and you will get close to 5 more.
Big bore (240) probly 5 more.

Porting makes all the difference. A big bore won't do much if you have stock ports choking your engine, heck even the stock bore is being choked, imagine adding 20% more motor to feed!
Add a 240 kit that is properly ported with a 33-35mm carb, and you will effectively double the power of your piped motor. Drag pipe, timing and methanol carb, up to probly 50-60 hp....
Just a 240 kit no porting maybe 20-30% more power. I'm sure any builder will agree with me.

it depends on the mods and porting ,it can be anywhere form a 5 horse gain over stock all the way up to over a 35+ horse gain
