Welding on frame??

When I weld to my jeeps, I disconnect the battery. No battery on blaster....what would I kill by welding on the frame?? Should I strip it down totally before welding???

And Q2, where do I find info on the weak links on the blaster frame?? I think above the swingarm bolt, between the subframe will get a little gusset...where else should I gusset the frame?

Germand warrior can you please stop with the CAPS ALL THE TIME? Its very agrevating. everything you type is in bloody caps, it doesnt need to be. not trying to be a dick, but its so anyoing and unneded.

I THOUGHT THERE WERE NUTS IN THERE, BUT I COULD BE WRONG. ITS WAS AWHILE AGO BUT THEY DID STRIP OUT ON ME AND I HAD TO MAKE SOME THREADED TUBE AND WELD THEM IN PLACE OF THE STOCK PIECES

mine cracked right were the front lower a-arm meets the front part of the frame on bolth sides but there was nothing like plastics or anything on mine it was preped for paint so idk but u should have to gusset the frame..

I HAVE WELDS BY MY ENGINE MOUNTS BUT I DIDNT PUT THEM THERE!! I DON'T USUALLY DO BIG JUMPS WITH MY BLASTY YET.
WHAT KINDA WELDER DO YOU USE? MIG OR ARC? I HAVE USED BOTH AND CAN SAY ARCING IS MUCH DIRTIER

I MIG solid core with 75/25 and i usually unhook the electronics, not to say it will fry them but why take that chance when its so easy to unhook? but yea weld away!

I have a lincoln AC 225, but my brother, he's a welder and he's got TIG, MIG, the whole nine yards. I'll probably have him bring over his little hobart handler MIG and help me out.

So I'm doing sub-frame, some swingarm bracing, and basically supporting the A-arm mounts, and gusseting (or maybe it's trussing) across the frame up where the A-arms are. That should solidify it?? Maybe the front motor mount too?? And maybe where the frame does a Y infront of the motor too?? BAsically, anywhere that looks like it could potentially bend or break!!

If I were to remove any electronics, what would it be?? Like unplug the stuff under the "hood?" Disconnect the spark plug wire?? Apparently some people don't think this is an issue, since there is no battery?

just unplug the cdi and electronics. i am not sayin it will fry them but its easier to just unhook them then figure out later why there isnt a spark.
