ok om my brother 250R three wheeler there is a small crack in the side

what is the best way to seal this up?????

any thoughts, i don't know since it's full of gas vapors etc.

i'm used to cold rolled steel thin stuff scares me

I done a few propane tanks and they never exploded...but that thin tank i would get a torch and braze or maybe a torch and some soldier....the only other way would be to tig..

NO, do not do this unless you are absolutely sure of what you are doing, this can literally get you killed, im serious

it will not kill u. maybe a poof. they say that the steel is porus and gas deposits itself in the tiny holes. yes it could ignite but there isnt enough there to do much.i chopped propane tank open with a plasma but only after washing throughly.

JB weld will hold. make sure you sand down the spot before applying it. it seals better when it has a smooth metal surface to bond to.

WON'T IT RUST?

IS THIS HER OR HIM,LOL.

I'LL BE USING A BASIC FLUX CORE WIRE FEED WELDER IT'S WHAT I HAVE ACCESS TO

leave the water in it, gas tank repair shops usedto do it this way, but now they have a way of doing it with out fdilling them with water..

friends of mine didnt know that and starter to braze a tank and BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM half his berd, eye brows, and hair gone

im not really a big fan of jb weld and i wouldnt use that, from past experiences it hasnt help up to well, and then ended up just getting it done the right way, welded

If you have access, get some nitrogen and put a small hose in the filler neck and let it run through the tank at a low rate. just put duct tape around the filler neck to seal off the hose and open your petcock. Nitrogen is inert and wont let whatever is still in you tank ignite( no oxygen for fire). This is what we use on heavy equipment tank repairs.
