ok my quad was acting really funny since i bought it . . my throttle response was off and it wouldnt idle . . ive done everything i wan think of . . i turned my air screw 1.5 turns out, i thought it was an air leak so i put new top end gaskets in it, ive cleaned/rebuilt the carb, my reeds look fine, i bought a k&n air filter for it. i just cant figure it out . . any ideas would be great

well what would be the easiest and quickest way to disconnect the tors because last time i just disconnected the wires on the top of the carb i lost all my spark

I agree that its most likely a jetting problem, but you might want to just check your wiring harness, especially the ground at the ignition coil under the seat. The screw was loose on mine once and it caused it to run really bad and backfire.

actually if its backfiring and stuff i would check to make sure the timing key isn't sheared off. if the timing is way retarded your throttle response will suck and it'll backfire out the exhaust

Start with the basics
1. What is the cranking compression?
2. Is the spark dark blue?
3. Is there a restriction of fuel to the carb?
It could be a bad stator, flywheel
If it starts the CDI box will not be a issue
If the pilot jet is too small you will have a idle issue and a huge issue with it revving
Turn the air screw in until its 1/4 turn out, does it responded to the change?
The air screw plays a HUGE impact on throttle response
