weird knocking noise

hey i have a 99 blaster with a fmf procore2 pipe and v force reeds..im hearing a knocking noise comming from the head..normal?

does this knocking sound like metal hitting metal? does it make the noise all the time?

i have like a sorta clicking soun that comes from my head. its the same with my wifes blaster, and fabb_3s too. i hopt its normal.

does it do it all the time or just at idle and low rpms. Mine does it at low and idle but from what I hear its normal, has something to do with back pressure in the exhaust chamber. I've watched a bunch of vids on youtube and I seem to hear it alot so I hope its normal

it only makes the noise at idle..i thought i blew the crank or some hit...but every1 is telling me that its normal...i hope so

blasters have a knock, to a point. if its like really bad(maybe get a vid/audio of it for us) then it might be a problem. right running a higher octane fuel and see if it goes away. could be pre detonation. after i went to the big bore and new pipe and new carb, pretty much all the knocking went away for me. its quiet as hell now. strange though ,it should have some knocking.

sounds like the typical 2-stroke sounds to me. at least by your description. higher octane gas may help, but probably not. it cant hurt to try bout 2-3 tanks of it to see if it goes away. dont trust the first tank if its still making noises. if after 3 and its still doing it. youre probably not gonna get it to go away.

yea my blaster was not making noise at first but now after breakin its starting to make the knocking noise at idle too.running 50/50 race gas.still knocking

Could this have something to do with piston free play.Like with the wiseco they expand quite a bit when they warm up so you have a little piston slap.Mine was sitting for a long time and it was quiet when I first started it but the slapping or clicking sound came back after I gave it a good run.Its anoying.Not sure if it could be something in the exhaust chamber.Mine does have a little exhaust leek at the head and the sound may be a little more than usuall but sounds like metal to metal.The exhaust leek may just contribute to the knocking sound by cousing some predetination as exhaust and chambering is the key function of a 2 stroke motor.Idk but just some off the wall thinking.Reliable is something these blasters are not.When you fix one thing something else needs work.But its a blast to ride.
