hey guys im new to all this so sorry if this is a stupid question.......i plan on fully washing down my blaster.....i plan on using degreaser, should i worry about the degreaser ruining anything?

You should be fine. Just use a hose, not a pressure washer. You can damage your seals on the engine and ruin you chain if you hit them directly. I hear a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders on your platics.

when you down go over all grease nipple with a grease gun and pump them full, just be careful of your chain and other seals, as mentioned

About twice a season, I take all the plastics off my bikes/quads and wash them like a car. I use car wash soap, dry them, then wax them. The wax makes clean up a breeze for the next month or so. I recommend Turtle Wax Ice (leaves no white stuff behind)
As for everything else, I scrub it down with Simple Green and a brush.
For the pipe, grab bar, bumper, and anything else that shines, I use Never-Dull polish after the Simple Green.

a pressure washer ruining a chain, really guys?

only thing a pressure washer will ruin is the graphics. there isn't any seals that you can hit with the pressure washer to ruin. all engine seals are covered by the side covers, the carrier seals are covered by the sprocket and brake hub.

i have used the pressure washer on my quads all the time. because some time a little sh*tty hose isn't going to get the heavy mud off the quad or the grease that has been on there forever.

after you wash it, always wax/oil the chain and grease all fittings to push out any water that might have gotten into the bearings.

take it to a car wash, spray it with the degrease sh*t, then use the pressure washer on the engine to get it clean. just watch out for the graphics, unless you want them gone then use the pressure washer to rip them off.

but after you clean it, oil the chain, grease all the zerk also, you can spray wd40 on everything (but the brake pads and rotors, if you have drums, then no worries)
but spray the bolts and nuts, and anything that when it rust will cause problems.

one question i tried scraping off the graphics but it seems like its caked on....should i use a heat gun to warm up the adhesive before i powerwash it off?

you can use a heat gun to warm them up and peel them off by hand. just make sure you dont burn them, just use enough heat to remove the graphics.

ok thank you so much....i wana get rid of the graphics...wash the whole thing down and then start painting the plastics black...cant stand the color on it now lol

ya, heat gun to the graphics and peel them off, then use the degrease and pressure washer to get off any left over glue residue.

^^^ ya, i dont think simple green does that good. i use purple power when doing a normal wash, but i use engine degreaser when there is caked on grease and dirt.

^^^^ I was gonna say use Purple Power on the stickers just let it soak for a few minutes and they should come rite off, that way there is no way of burning your plastics with a heat gun.
