This is not my motor but it could be anyones if they are running a stock basket with loose rivets.I got to the shop last night and seen this blaster motor that was locked up on the bench. This is what was found. The basket had loose rivets and the back plate loaded up and blew to pieces. We all know alot of the blaster clutch baskets have loose rivets and this is what can happen. Not saying it is going to either, but damn well could. An aftermarket wiseco, hinson,pe,magnum etc basket does not have rivets and bolts on so it can be corrected if it comes loose and is much stronger than rivets. This is some carnage for sure. The worst basket I have seen yet!!!!

got a dumb question
what would happen i i were to weld the damn stock clutch basket?

2 different types of material. The gear is steel and the basket is aluminum. It would be tough to weld it.Even if it was possible it wouldn't be worth it as you would have to weld it then grind all the welds flush in order for proper clutch operation.
