Just curious..since your 27 and have a well paying job..why not get a larger bike? Part of me is un sure if its worth it to spend the money I have been spending, Ive probly spent alittle over 1000 dollars since the begining of september..that includes maintence and mods...and little things along the way. I could have put some money down and worked on financing a newer bike.. but then again I like the blaster and think it has potential..

Im with you on the fact I also spend money on my toys..Between my blaster..I have a 400whp VW jetta VR6 turbo.. I rather not discuss how much i have invested in to that thing..:-D

im 17 and have a part time job but still have enough to pour into my toy

Sheeeit

I'm 42 and make more than all three of you combined and I'm lucky if I have 2 nickels to rub together. Life can suck depending on your perspective.

As for "is a Blaster worth it", I'd say yea.

It's very light, they make uber goodies for it and you can rebuild it from the rubber up.

Buy a nice fancy new one and eat a tree and find out what new plastic costs.

Also the design is time tested, it works.

Once you max it out it will run with rides that cost 4 times as much.

You ain't gonna tow your jeep out of the mud with it, but you can drive over or around it!!

Well unless you make 90k+/yr, you don't make more than me. I live in an area where the cost of living is very high. Not to mention taxes eat my ass alive.

Plus, I just built a new house last December and my mortgage is 2k a month. So if you did your math, minus the taxes, there's not much left over; I still have to pay car insurance, electric, etc.

Well, I am saving for a Banshee just because I have always liked them. They are kind of expensive in this area as well as most.

The reason I like Blasters is because they are very common. Since they are common, they usually come heavily modded, which I like. Most of them are cheap as well.

As far as spending a ton on aftermarket crap, I do, just in moderation, 300 here, 60 there, etc. I can't see myself getting Elka shocks, as bad as I want them, they are a little too expensive.

I too have a very nice car. I have a 2002 Lexus IS300 with a ton of mods to include lowered 2" all around, SRT Intake, Piggy Back Computer, HKS Exhaust, Xerd Headers, Xerd Race Pipe, 7" In-dash Touchscreen TV, PS2 in the trunk, 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Subs, Rockford Fosgate Amp, Movable headlights, and the list goes on and on.

But these aren't even my biggest investments...I have a wife, two 5 year olds, and one on the way....they eat up most of my money.

I don't really like to finance much. So what I am doing is, buying Blasters as cheap as possible, then fixing them and selling it for as much as possible.

All three of my quads I have over $1000 invested in each so far, but that's buying them and fixing them up a little.

:-)

Cypher, I feel your pain. I got you way beat, hell my Ol' lady makes that. The bugger is you spend what you make, whether it's 30K a year or 300. I got two trucks for my business a Durango and 2 saturns for the kids. I also own 2 homes. One is a log home on 36 acres in the foothills of Va. You wanna whine about mortgage pain, try a house and land that you can't get a mortgage on. I had to do a straight out cash loan. Will have her paid off in about 6 more though and 3 after that will have the main homestead. So I am still looking at owning stuff and the payment drawer being empty before 50. All I can ask for. The Va. place has been screamin' for a toy for along time!!!

Just a heads up, when the kids go to college, it's like another motgage, man that crap is pricey!!! Hell the dang auto ins. when they get to driving age is more than rent I have paid. It all gets spent and coming up with a grand here and there is always a challenge. I have some friends that make way more than me and it's the same story, they have bigger houses and bigger payments.

You spend what you make, can't take it with you.

P.S. Get the hell outta Maryland, you will do alot better. Drop down to Va. I've lived all over and I have to say Va. is one of the better places. I will retire up there and they will bury me there. Hope it ain't from the Blaster.....

well all in all..we like our toys! But i have to say I seriously might just go for a banshee if i dont do the YZ 250 swap..becuase I need somethng with more power..but for now the blaster is holding me over.. Its an enjoyable quad..Maybe if i shell out the money and ket the tommey B1 kit ill be more content with the power gains..Exhuast is the best mod to unleash power Id asume..

chypertext....I understand you feel strongly about something, but that doesn't give you the right to put everyone that thinks differently down, so why dont YOU SHUT THE f*ck UP.... i am not trying to flame you out...but uhh holy hell...you just went off...telling US how to keep people in OUR forum..when YOU have been here for close to a month...when most of us have been here for several months..and some more, and...i said, im not trying to be an ass towards anyone or anything...but...you have been deroggatory to everything else except Vitos...so id say...watch what you say Stilll saying im not tryin to be mean! thanks

"unless you make more than 109k+ / year, you dont make more than i do :D" -- see i could do that...and its true..and i win! lol..

Easy killer....well contrary to what you may have read or believe, I am not derroggatory towards anything except the fact that people are always trying to put down Vitos.

I am not trying to tell anyone how to "keep" people in "our" forum, I am simply saying there is a lot of mis-informing information for people that stop by to get information on how to fix something, etc. I came here for that same exact reason.

Ok, maybe I should have taken a different route on how to talk about pay or whatever, but as OldFart explained, it's not about how much you make because "you spend it what you make." If that's a false statement, say so. I was trying to say something similar except not so direct.

Well the problem is I work for the Navy and the only place I could go is No. VA.

Where do you live in VA? I live in So. MD which is a 30 min ride to Dahlgren/King George.

I am also looking into doing investment properties but that word investment scares me a little cause they tend to be money pits.
