Vitos 240acc bbk arrived today

The kit arrived today and doesnt look too bad imo.all the machine work looks great.theres some casting flash that will be adressed when i port it but not to bad out of the box.

I am very shocked at how choked the intake port is ive not got my stocker off yet gor a side by side comparison but it looks restrictive.

The piston looks about as oem as it comes.its a cast piston so i called vitos and theyre ojt of the forged slugs sooooo idk if ill go ahead and run this cast piston and get some use or swap it from the start.


Not too bad though should be fun.btw who all runs these vitos and in what configuration with what mods?what are your opinions?

Is that its only downfall or are we dealing eith inferior metals and craftsmanship?

Im just curious why everyone so against them?

Run it as is. You will be fine. Sure there may be better pistons out there. But why not just run what you bought and see how it is? I say give it a try. You can always get another piston down the road.

I ran a Vitos 240 kit as it came from the box and it was fine. Ran awesome, no problems.

poor craftsmanship and quality control. ie: sleeves spinning in the jug, crooked or off center spark plug hole in the heads, chunks of material missing in the intake ports, out of true crankshafts .. just to name a few known problems that have been encountered by members of this forumn.

Well ive inspected this setup out of the box and it all loks real nice thats not to say problems wont develop down the road but as it sits it looks nice.

I mic'ed the bore and piston and called vitos and according to them im well with in specs.ive read about every 240 post and have went over it with a fine tooth comb.

So anyone had any good luck?

I'm running the vito's 240 kit on mine. I've also got there +3mm stroker crank too. Haven't had any problems with mine. I also upgraded the piston on mine and got a forged one from the start

you obviously missed the threads about the la sleeve bbk being a far superior bbk kit for around the same loot
and all the problem threads on these
good luck, and i'd pass on calling vito's for info, they're gonna tell you whatever you wanna hear
