hello everybody killer454 here im new to the forum, and i am glad i found this forum.i picked up a 1998 blaster about a week ago,the guy said the tranny was lockedup when i went to see it.it had very good compression so i bought it for 400.00.
the rear tires where locked up so i figured the trany may be bad.
got it home and all it was is the rear caliper lockedup on the rotor.
im 42 years old and when this thing was new i worked at capital city yamaha in jeff city missouri (uncle owned the dealership)only worked there for about a month then went into sheetmetal trade in kc.
so far i have cleaned the carb (runs like scary crazy)
fixed the seat with new cover
bought a new rear break cable
new filter
new plug
new oil in case
at this moment waiting for rear axle bearings to showup, got it tore down and ready for them.
i bought a new float, float pin and carb kit but didnt even need them.
also picked a whole carb assembly off e-gay for 42.00 shipped did not use it either.
just wanted to introduce myself and wanted to think everybody for the search on this forum has helped me alot already.
