The V-force 2 reeds are a better design then the V-force 3. The reeds have to be hand ported to achieve good flow numbers. A customer of mine wants a drag port 240cc kit with a +3mm crank.
Displacement can be figured out a few ways.
The stock bore is 66mm with a 57mm crank
So let’s do the math
Bore squared times the stroke times .7854
(6.6)(6.6)(5.7)(.7854)=195cc=stock displacement
Big bore kit with +3mm crank = 7.2*7.2*6.0*.7854=244.29cc
If you desire big power number you must hand port the V-force 3 reeds
When I ported the reeds for him; we gained 10hp from the un-ported reeds

are u talking about porting the reed cage?? or fileing the reeds themselves down, id like to see more on this, Imo why would moto tassinari, design the vforce3 if the vforce 2 was a better design??

Could be wrong. But from what I have seen the vf2's are slightly better than vf3's.I don't believe seeing 10 hp difference though..Post up some dyno results for us with the two so we can take a peek. Thanks

seriously why would u make something newer when the old one was better? im pissed i just bought vforces 3's.. though they just help with throttle response

More products to sell and more money coming in. Do think that companies do the research they claim; no they do not. Most companies just want to sell parts to the public and know 98% of the people buying them will never know the truth.
The 10hp drop was in a drag blaster engine; it was killing the flow....

I've been looking at those for a while now thinking they would cut down on the flow as well, in a modified motor with a larger carb. Of course I don't have a way to test it. They are probably a good upgrade for a stock motor with a smaller carb.

So what are you shaving?THe plastic peice that goes inside of the reeds?Ive always thought that it shrunk the opening too much.Couldnt you just make a new one that has a bigger opening?

yeah, i think that angus means that the porting is necessary for certain upgrades. ie bigger carb, or extreme porting or big bore.
the stock motor w/ stock carb wouldn't gain anything from porting the reed cage.
i'm sending angus my reed cage along w/ some other things. the porting he's gonna do isn't gonna really affect too much w/ my stock carb, but i'm thinkin ahead for when i get the larger carb.

I hear ya,but my setup may require more flow. When i first got my blaster it had the v-force reeds in there but didnt have the air flow director. So i had my buddy make me one and i ran that one untill i got the air flow thing.Im going to tell ya i think it ran stronger when i put that spacer he made in it.Im going to go back and put that spacer he made and see how it runs in the 240 I:I
