Upper rpm range power loss?!?!

I have a 99 blasty tors removed DMV gold series/powercore 2 and it was running fine yesterday I went to ride today and it stated up fine but cuts out when I rev it up the only thing I changed was from regular to premium gas any ideas?

Yes and yes but if it was the plug wouldnt it be running bad all around? I will try that though

When plugs go bad they start losing spark in the upper range first...

check reeds too, and might as well clean that carb while its off, not just the bowl, a complete disassemble/cleaning, and check fuel flow outta the petcock

I am not sure about jetting it is probly a bit rich if anything though..I'll clean the whole carb again lol that's nothing new..what am I supposed to look for when checking the reeds? I'm still kinda new to 2 strokes thanks for all the help guys

my vote is with cleaning the carb thoroughly and checking the mains jet size and reporting back to us

See if the reeds are cracked or missing. If they are they need to be replaced.

Okay well I took the carb apart and wasn't able to read the numbers on the jet..and the reeds look fine to me

How does the plug look? Might wanna order another jet just to make sure its the right size...

Check all of your electrical connections and definitely throw a new plug in it.

You runnin an airbox lid or no?

Air filter and intake clean?

Did this happen as soon as you changed fuel? Could be bad gas. See it many times with cars. This ethanol fuel phase separates with any water and causes the octane to drop. Pour some out in a clear glass and look for any globs. That will be the phase separation you will see.
