Got a Uni filter, put it on today and have a question. I had a K&N filter on there first so I took that off and slapped the Uni with cage on. When I tightened it down the front of the filter was still up in the air a bit. I didn't really take a good look but is there a "base" or something that needs to come off from the K&N before I put the Uni on or something else i'm missing?

The UNI filter is a two stage foam filter. Do you have both stages over the cage? Also, you need to oil both pieces separately.

Both filters over the cage. This is the first quad I've had so I've never dealt with either of thess filters. The quad is at a friends house so I can't exactly go inspect the airbox to find my problem. What I need to know is, when you use a K&N filter on the blaster does it use some kind of base or mount directly onto the bottom of the airbox. I know when I took off the K&N there was some sort of raised section in the airbox ( a platform if you will) but I didn't really inspect it to see if it was part of the airbox or if it was a part that the K&N required.

I got that cage with the filter, I guess I just didn't put enough grease on the bottom, ill try slipping some more around the edges and see what happens.

Great, then as long as the UNI is wrapped around the cage and the sealing surface is greased, then you should be fine. It is normal for the foam to poof up a bit at the edges when you clamp down on the foam.

Use a good sticky foam air filter oil on it. K&N oil is too thin.
