uni filter question

Saw you are building an MX bike, welcome to the forum. Most people around here run an airbox or a custom extension rather than just a pod off the back of the carb, which can add turbulence. Certainly the stock airbox is a bit restrictive and worth dumping, I doubt 4 or 6 in really makes a difference beyond longer time between cleaning.

Duncan Racing uses modded TRX250R airboxes. Others use aftermarket like the one off ebay or F7s. Personally, I think a modest custom tube off the carb going to a 6in pod would be a hot ticket. Plenty of room for it, and the tube is supposed to help velocity and reduce turbulence. Outerwears are a def plus.

thank you Royal, that is what I was looking for. Hopefully by this time next year I will be helping answer some new guys questions. I am 100% about helping anyone at the track who needs it even the ones who my kid races against. Always have been and always will be. I love to watch my son race and he is pretty good at it. he has been riding since 4 and he just turned 12. He hits jumps that I wouldnt attempt on my kfx400 and he clears doubles on a mini quad that most blaster & raptor 250 racers at our track were not clearing or even attempting.
I do plan on running the cfm (I think its called) airbox on ebay, but I gotta get it running and built before Christmas. I promise topost pics when I get it done. Probably from Christmas morning when he sees it "built" for the first time.
If anyone on here is building there kids a racing mini quad, I have a full race mini for sale on ATVFLORIDA.COM it is a full race DRR 100cc. It would have won our championship if the chain didnt come off 3 races before the last race. He lost the championship because of that. He won a championship in 2009(1st year ever racing) and got 2nd in 2010. I will help anyone building a mini, i know its not the right forum for it, but just ask if ya need help. I spent the last 2 years building them for racing and 6yrs just making them faster. I Know what works and what dont...lol

Good luck, man. My 13 yo has been riding a Blasterfor two years (OR State champ last year) and is already outgrowing it (5' 9"!). Seized it on his last race (3 weeks ago?) and now we are planning on moving him up to a YFZ. He has been making that Blaster do things that frankly scare the crap out of me. It has decent shocks but not the best. As you know, suspension is EVERYTHING.
